Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett has brought his players in for the remainder of the week as their preparation for the 2014/15 season begins in earnest.

Full pre-season training will begin on Monday, but the current squad along with Afolabi Obafemi, who is trying to earn a new deal with the club, will come in today for fitness tests to see what shape they are in after the off season.

And boss Wayne Burnett admits he can’t wait to get going once again.

“It’ll be nice to be back and it all starts here really,” said Burnett

“The players will start off with some fitness testing on Wednesday and it’ll get a little bit tougher as the week goes on before they come back in on Monday and it all picks up from there.”

Before the arrivals of Mark Cousins, Damian Batt and Nathan Green, the squad was looking thin on the ground with only 13 confirmed starters for the new season, which also includes Rhys Murphy, who continues his rehabilitation from hip surgery in the summer.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.
