Mark Cousins hoping to continue good away form

Mark Cousins is confident Dagenham & Redbridge can beat Luton tomorrow night, despite the Kenilworth Road team looking to make it six League Two victories in a row.

Wayne Burnett’s faces former Daggers boss John Still with the Hatters full of confidence and fourth in the league table.

The Victoria Road outfit are in contrasting form and have lost seven out of 13 league games this campaign.

However, they beat Accrington Stanley last time they were on the road and the first choice keeper believes they must take inspiration from that result and their away form which has been encouraging this season.

“Luton are flying but Accrington were flying as well and we managed to beat them away from home,” the 27-year-old said defiantly.

“We will have to put in another good away performance and get something out of it.

“We have picked up a couple of wins and a draw (in our last few away fixtures) so we hope to build on that.”

Cousins believes the home supporters will make it a hostile atmosphere tomorrow evening for Daggers.

But the former Colchester keeper is hoping they can take the positives from Saturday’s defeat to Newport County into the match against Still’s side.

“Luton will be a very hostile atmosphere I am sure,” admitted Cousins.

“I have only played there once before but it will be a good atmosphere and especially being a former manager and a couple of former players so it is a game we look forward too.

“We have to take the positives away from (the Newport defeat) and we have to do the same again on Tuesday against Luton.”
