Alex Jakubiak is looking to learn from his Dagenham & Redbridge team mates during his loan spell at Victoria Road.

The 18-year-old moved from Championship club Watford on a month’s loan on November 27 and went on to scored 10 minutes into his debut for the club against Bury at Gigg Lane.

Jakubiak has the chance to train and play alongside experienced forwards Jamie Cureton and Patrick Agyemang while on loan with Daggers, and he is relishing the opportunity.

“I think the formation we play suits me very well and playing alongside either Jamie Cureton or Patrick Agyemang up front is good,” he said.

“Both are very experienced strikers so I think learning from the two of them will be good for me.

“We were doing a little video session recently and I have seen some of Jamie’s goals this season and they are all quite similar.

“It is all about his movement and that is something I definitely want to learn.”

Jakubiak praised the 39-year-old forward, who has eight goals for Wayne Burnett’s men this campaign.

He added: “Jamie keeps defenders of their toes the whole time and they never know where he is or where he is going to go.

“At the last minute it is that timing that is so good and he just gets in front of them.

“He gets a touch and his finishing is just ridiculous, even in training he is a quality player.”

Jakubiak’s strike against Bury in Daggers last outing was just his second goal in the football league.

Strangely enough his first came against his new team whilst on loan at Oxford United earlier this season.

It was an eventful match, he added: “I scored three minutes into that game against Dagenham so I thought everything was going well and it was a good start for me at Oxford.

“There was some banter about that goal and also the incident where I was fouled by Scott Doey.

“I won the penalty and there were a few shouts that I dived, but it was all fun and games.”
