Midfielder made first appearance of season in Daggers defeat to Leyton Orient

Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Billy Bingham made his first start of the season against Leyton Orient yesterday in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and the 24-year-old admitted it was lovely to be back.

Wayne Burnett’s side were knocked out of the JPT after Jay Simpson scored twice at Victoria Road.

The O’s forward found the net after five minutes before adding another in the 69th minute to seal a 2-0 win for the League One side.

Bingham was pleased to return to the Daggers team but conceded it was horrible to lose to their local rivals.

“It has been a while and it was lovely to be back out there,” said Bingham.

“Conceding early on puts you on the back foot and it changes it a bit, but at half time we are only 1-0 down.

“We were still in the game, but the second goal sort of kills us.

“But they are good players so we have to take it but obviously we wanted to win and we felt we could have got that win.

“It is horrible to lose but we have just got to put it behind us now.”

Bingham was voted man of the match by the Daggers supporters and was also the Post’s star man against Orient.

However, the midfielder wasn’t too happy with his individual performance.

“I didn’t get on the ball as much as I would have liked,” he admitted.

“I was a bit frantic and wasn’t too happy with my performance to be honest.

“That is nice (to win man of the match from the supporters) and it is always nice to get something like that and it shows I might have done alright.”

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.
