Nouble and Guedioura on target in Daggers draw at Witham

Pre-season friendly: Witham Town 2 Dagenham & Redbridge 2

Daggers came back from two goals down to ensure a share of the spoils against Ryman Premier side Witham Town in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the new League Two season.

The game at Spa Road almost didn’t start due to the poor state of the pitch, but Daggers boss Wayne Burnett agreed to let the match go ahead.

The visitors included trialists Nabil Guedioura, Kurtis Pykes, Tash Richmond, former Arsenal and Brentford winger Kojo Awotwi while the only first-team player used by Burnett was striker Jon Nouble.

Daggers found themselves a goal down when Tom Wraight’s corner was slotted past Worster by Leon Antoine.

Antoine would then turn provider for Witham’s second as his throughball was coolly converted by Dan Emanuel.

That was how it remained at the break and with 20 minutes remaining Daggers pulled one back when a free-kick deflected into the path of Nouble and he made no mistake from inside the box.

And with time ticking away the visitors levelled the scores when Guedioura beat home goalkeeper Chico Ramos to the ball and the former Crystal Palace youngster side footed home from an acute angle.
