Midfielder moves on loan to Conference South again

Conference South outfit Ebbsfleet United have announced the loan signing of Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Sean Shields.

The 22-year-old recently returned to Victoria Road following a three-month loan spell with St Albans City, but has now moved to Stonebridge Road on a month’s loan.

The former Northern Ireland under-21 international enjoyed a successful spell with St Albans scoring five times in 13 starts before leaving at the end of November.

He will now link up with former Daggers forward Alex Osborn at Ebbsfleet, whilst current Fleet caretaker boss Daryl McMahon has previously worked at Victoria Road as a youth team coach.

Shields moved to Daggers from St Albans in January 2013 on a three-and-a-half year contract, but have struggled to establish himself at the club.

The midfielder was former boss John Still’s final signing and has started just two matches for Daggers, but made 11 substitute appearances during his time at the club.
