Dagenham & Redbridge boss upset with team’s attacking threat after Yeovil loss

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still says his team lacked imagination in attack following a 1-0 loss at home to Yeovil Town.

In a crunch clash between two teams fighting to remain in the division, Brandon Goodships’ 50th minute goal proved decisive for the Glovers.

Daggers are now nine points adrift of safety and still prop up the standings, leaving Still to question where the creativity in his side will come from.

“I thought Yeovil had the edge. I don’t think we had enough imagination in attack,” said Still.

“We got into about 12 good attacking areas, but we never really supplied a threatening ball.

“In fairness, I think the game was like that and their final ball and delivery wasn’t too good.

“Their goal, the fella took it well, but other than that there weren’t chance for either team.

“I look at my own team and we never created enough goalscoring opportunities for those to score a goal.

“What was disappointing was that in the second bit of the first half, we got into their final third so often, but we never made the most of it.

After a brief revival shortly after Still’s return, Daggers have now not won in their last seven fixtures to slip to the foot of the standings.

Things currently look bleak for the east Londoners, but Still insists it is far from over yet.

“It was tough when we came and it’s stayed tough, but there’s 45 points to play for,” he added.

“We’re going to have to find goals, but we have people who can score, like Jamie Cureton and Matt McClure.”
