Youth team scholar Jodi Jones to travel with first team squad to Abbey Stadium

Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett has a relatively fit squad to choose from ahead of tonight’s fixture with Cambridge United.

Matt Partridge is expected to be fit now after suffering a hamstring injury against Oxford United on January 10.

Zavon Hines and Abu Ogogo both got competitive minutes under their belt last Tuesday as they featured in the Essex Senior Cup defeat to Concord Rangers.

Daggers skipper played 90 minutes in that match and will be pushing to be included against the U’s – who held Manchester United to a stalemate in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night..

Youngster Jodi Jones also played the whole match in the Concord defeat and scored a stunning goal to display his talent.

He will travel with the first team squad to Cambridge, but the 17-year-old isn’t expected to feature at Abbey Stadium.

Burnett will also have a decision to make regarding who starts up front this evening with Jamie Cureton on the bench last time out against Northampton Town, but refreshed ahead of tonight’s match therefore Rhys Murphy could drop to the bench.
