Jamie Cureton is expected to come straight back into the starting team

Wayne Burnett will make changes to his side as they prepare to play their second match in three days against Southend United later this afternoon.

Daggers go to Roots Hall hoping to lift spirits and achieve a positive result after losing their last three matches.

Jamie Cureton was rested during the Boxing Day defeat to Stevenage so is expected to come back into the team against the Blues.

Darren Currie said: “That has been the plan - for Jamie to be involved at Southend.

“With two games in three days, I don’t think teams at the other end of the table will stick with the same eleven.

“The game is very much about a squad and we have certainly got attacking options which will allow us to change the shape and change the team personnel against Southend, which is what the plan has been over this Christmas period.”

Ade Yusuff missed out against his former club on Boxing Day due to illness, but Daggers assistant boss was hopeful the youngster would be available for the match against Southend.

Abu Ogogo is still a few weeks away, though, while Zavon Hines and Christian Doidge aren’t ready to return to the first team yet.

Rhys Murphy is likely to be on the bench after starting in the league for the first time since March 1 against Stevenage.

Whilst Matt Partridge, Joss Labadie and Andre Boucaud could also be handed starting roles at Roots Hall for Daggers last match of 2014.
