New Dagenham & Redbridge signing Ade Yusuff could go straight into the squad for today’s home game against Cambridge United.

The 20-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Daggers following his move from Ryman One North side Chatham Town yesterday for an undisclosed fee.

Fellow striker Christian Doidge (foot) is a doubt for the game, as is defender Scott Doe (dead leg) and Ashley Chambers (calf).

Zavon Hines and striker Rhys Murphy remain long-term absentees for Wayne Burnett’s side, with the latter suffering a setback in his bid to return to the squad following a hip injury.

The 23-year-old underwent an operation on Thursday after suffering groin problems having made an initial return to training.

Cambridge have a number of absentees, including stand-in skipper Tom Champion who is out after suffering a fractured cheekbone, while striker Liam Hughes and Luke Chadwick picked up injuries in the 1-1 draw at Newport County on Monday.

Hughes broke his wrist, while Chadwick picked up a hamstring injury.

Strikers Robbie Simpson and loanee Kwasi Appiah will both miss the encounter after picking up thigh injuries, while skipper Ian Miller is the only long-term absentee after rupturing his Achilles in the play-off final win over Gateshead last season.
