Burnett expected to make most of squad over the festive period

Manager Wayne Burnett has told his squad everyone will be needed over the Christmas period ahead of matches against Stevenage and Southend United.

Daggers host Graham Westley’s team this afternoon, looking to bounce back from two consecutive league defeats.

Captain Abu Ogogo is still unavailable, whilst Zavon Hines isn’t expected to be ready for first team football yet.

Young forward Christian Doidge is also sidelined with an ankle injury, but Burnett has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Speaking prior to the match, he admitted all of his squad could be needed for matches against Boro and Southend, on December 28.

“We are going to need everyone. I have spoke to the players and said everyone is going to be needed,” he admitted.

Rhys Murphy impressed when he came on as a substitute against Plymouth Argyle last weekend so he could potentially be awarded with a first start since returning from injury.

Luke Howell also returned last weekend from suspension, but was an unused substitute at Home Park.

After a poor second half performance against the Pilgrims, Howell could be set for a start – it would be his first since November 18 when he received his red card at Southport.

Daggers will be looking to register just a sixth victory at Victoria Road in the league during 2014 in what is their last home match of the year.
