Poor pitch might dictate team Burnett chooses

Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett will have a decision to make over what team he picks at the Lamex Stadium today.

Although he witnessed their best performance of the season on Tuesday night against Plymouth Argyle, Stevenage’s pitch isn’t in the best condition.

Therefore Daggers might have difficulty passing the ball about like they did at Victoria Road.

Ashley Chambers impressed against Pilgrims, but Shamir Fenelon should have recovered from his illness and will be back in contention.

Despite his age, Jamie Cureton is expected to start up front and will aim to keep up his excellent form – he has scored seven times in his last 10 matches.

Mark Cousins returned from concussion and took over the goalkeeping duties on Tuesday night after Liam O’Brien suffered a groin injury during the later stages of the game against Southend United.

O’Brien isn’t expected to be available, after missing Daggers development game on Thursday, so young stopper Lewis Moore will again be on the bench.

Christian Doidge will also hope to be among the substitutes after returning from his two-month loan with Conference Premier Dartford this week.
