There’s no pressure on us against Brentford, says Daggers boss Burnett

Daggers are big underdogs going into tonight’s Capital One Cup first round tie with Brentford – and boss Wayne Burnett hopes that approach may cause an upset.
Burnett’s side only lost out late on against the Bees in the same fixture last season at Griffin Park and though they go into the game on the back of a 3-0 loss to Morecambe, the Daggers chief hopes they at least put in an improved showing.
“I think it’s a really good thing that we’ll be playing a Championship side so I think it will be a different test for us but one we are looking forward to,” said Burnett.
“Sometimes you need to get that out of your system. We are playing Brentford who have just gone up to the Championship.
“Of course we want to win, but there’s no real pressure on us. Hopefully we can go out there and get a better result.”
Burnett will resist the temptation to make wholesale changes for the Cup, with only one or two alterations expected.
“We won’t change it a great deal, we’ll just make one or two tweaks to the personnel and hopefully we can put in a better performance than what we did on Saturday.
“It’s a tough test but we ran them close last year and we’d like to do the same again.”
