Forward moves to Victoria Road on deal lasting until end of season

Dagenham & Redbridge have signed forward Tomi Adeloye on a deal that will run until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old spent last season with Vanarama National League rivals Hartlepool United, but left in the summer and arrives at Victoria Road on a free transfer.

Adeloye adds some much-needed depth to Daggers’ attacking options after the Essex club sold Michael Cheek to divisional rivals Ebbsfleet United last week.

The forward had been on trial with Daggers and boss Peter Taylor revealed he was pleased with what he saw from the youngster.

“Tomi has been training with us after I was recommended him from a reliable source, and over the time he has been with the club I have liked what I have seen,” Taylor told the club website.

“We have decided to give him an opportunity to come here and show us what he can do.”

News of Adeloye’s arrivals comes a day after Daggers signed Alex McQueen on a deal that will run until January.

The former Tottenham Hotspur trainee can cover several positions across defence and midfield for Daggers.

Both Adeloye and McQueen could make their debuts for Taylor’s men when Maidenhead United visit in the league on Saturday.
