Dagenham & Redbridge have confirmed Alex Jakubiak has extended his loan from Championship outfit Watford until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old joined the Victoria Road club on an initial month youth loan on November 27 and scored on his debut two days later at Bury.

He extended his deal by another month at the start of 2015 and will now remain at the club until the end of the campaign.

Wayne Burnett has used the youngster eight times since he first signed, giving him just one start against Northampton Town last month.

However Jakubiak impressed after coming on in the 35th minute during the 3-1 win against Cheltenham Town on Saturday and netted the third goal – his second since joining Daggers.

Speaking after that game, he said: “I would be more than happy to stay. It is a great club and the lads are brilliant.

“I would like to help them not go down and climb the table. I am only 18 so this loan is massive for me.”

The attacker has now got his wish and depending on the severity of the groin injury Rhys Murphy suffered against the Robins, he could earn his second start for the club when Daggers visit York City this weekend.
