Dagenham & Redbridge forward Ade Yusuff was on “cloud nine” after scoring his first two goals in the football league to help the Victoria Road outfit defeat Accrington Stanley.

Wayne Burnett’s side trailed at the break and he introduced Yusuff at half time and the forward repaid the faith.

The signing from Chatham Town scored his first goal for the club in the 58th minute before adding a second eight minutes later.

Both were stunning strikes but the forward made sure to praise his team mates, although he couldn’t hide his delight.

“I can’t take anything away from the boys. We worked so hard today and they gave me the space to get my opportunity,” said Yusuff.

“I am just thankful that we got the three points in the end. It is not about me, it is a team effort.

“We definitely dug in towards the end and got the three points and I am happy.”

Yusuff admitted it felt amazing to score his first goals in the football league and that nobody can take that away from him now.

He also revealed that he had a good feeling prior to today’s match against Accrington.

“I am just on cloud nine and no one can ever tell me that I haven’t scored in the football league because I have now,” added the Daggers forward.

“It was amazing (to score) and I had a good feeling about today.

“I am so glad we have got the three points and, like I said, it is not about me but I am happy I have got the goals.”

Yusuff revealed that manager Burnett told him an opportunity would come his way at the Crown Ground.

He added: “Wayne said ‘go on and work hard and an opportunity will come’ and luckily two came along and I have taken them both well and I am just happy about that.”
