Dagenham & Redbridge under-18s have signed Tower Hamlets youngster Briggs Ojemen this week.

The 16-year-old, who managed to break into the first-team at the Essex Senior League outfit, has moved to the National League outfit and his former manager AJ Ashanike believes he has a bright future.

Ojemen was part of the youth team at the Mile End-based club who crashed out of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-0 defeat to National League side Leyton Orient.

“I’m really pleased for Briggs, he was in the youth team that had a really good run in the FA Youth Cup, he also managed to get into the first team and worked his way up,” Ashanike said.

“It just shows when you give the little ones a chance it opens up doors for them.

“I spoke to him and my advice to him was to keep working hard and even harder now as you’re at a professional club.

“He has a really bright future in the game as he works so hard.”
