Forward leaves Hammers to spend season with Spanish second-tier club

West Ham United forward Toni Martinez has joined Spanish second-tier side Rayo Majadahonda on loan until the end of the season.

The loan deal sees the 21-year-old return to his native country and the forward will hope for plenty of game time during his spell with Majariegos.

It is not the first time the Hammers have loaned Martinez to a Spanish side, with the attacker notching one goal in 10 appearances for Real Valladolid in the second half of last season.

Since moving to east London from Valencia in 2016, Martinez has also been loaned to Sky Bet League One outfit Oxford United.

Martinez is yet to feature in the Premier League for West Ham, though has made several appearances in the FA Cup.

The young forward will hope to use his latest loan move to press home his case for a place in the Hammers’ first team upon his return from Rayo.
