Transfer news: Nicolas Anelka will retire after his spell with Shanghai Shenua
Former Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka will not return to the Premier League, despite rumours linking him with an exit from Shanghai Shenua.
The 33-year-old had been linked with QPR and West Ham has endured a difficult start to life in China, scoring twice as well as having a spat with a fan last week.
“I won’t go back to the Premier League. If one day I leave Shenhua, it will be the day I retire,” Anelka told Oriental Sports Daily.
“I will never go back, although I had a good time there. But now I’m in Shenhua and this is my own decision.”
