Sporthouse to stage season openers

Barking’s Sporthouse stages the first game of the new handball season this weekend.

And Sunday’s double-header is sure to throw up some exciting derby action as Olympia and London GD go head-to-head.

Olympia’s women meet their London GD rivals first at 1pm, as they begin their quest for a third successive title against the 2012/13 runners-up.

The men’s match begins at 3pm and is expected to be a tight tussle with London GD having recently competed against Dutch side OCI Lions in the EHF Cup.

They lost the first leg of the Europa League-style event by a 28-18 margin, before a 44-12 defeat in the second leg.

Olympia’s men have changed their coach recently and also have new players among their ranks.

They beat newly promoted Coventry HC 38-29 in a pre-season friendly and also defeated Cambridge HC, who finished third last season, by a 39-23 margin.

Olympia train at Sporthouse, UEL Sportsdock and Leyton Score Centre, while London GD use Bethnal Green Technology College, Leyton Score Centre and the Cooper Box.

Entrance to Sunday’s matches is free and Sporthouse can be found at Mayesbrook Park, Dagenham, RM8 2JR.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
