Transfer news: Ross McCormack wants to stay at Elland Road
Crystal Palace’s hopes of signing Ross McCormack appear to have been dashed as the Leeds frontman is looking to sign a new contract.
The 25-year-old has been linked with Huddersfield and Bristol City as well as the Eagles but is not intending to leave.
“Everyone knows there have been offers for me and the club have turned them down,” he told the club’s official website. “I’m just waiting on an offer of a new contract and we’ll take it from there.
“I’ve said from day one, I’ve got a house here, I’ve got an eight month old baby, my missus is happy and my choice would be to stay at Leeds, so hopefully the offer is one that I think is acceptable.”
Leeds boss Neil Warnock has confirmed that the club are ready to open talks with the player over a new contract.
“Ross knows I want to keep him,” he said. “I’ve had a chat with him. His representative will be talking to the club over the next few days. We’ve had a couple of enquiries for him, but I don’t want to sell him unless something happens that we can’t turn down.”
