Transfer news: The O’s are expected to be signing a striker and a defender

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has revealed he is closing in on two transfer targets.

The duo, believed to be a striker and a defender, are set to be wrapped up over the next few days ahead of pre-season training.

“We’ve had to be patient this summer but we’re now very close to signing two important players for us,” Slade said. “The deals are a long way down the line and they will both be big assets for the club.

“I think a lot of clubs have had to have that kind of patience with the new financial rules because players have been hanging out for the kind of money they’ve been used to.”
