Josh Wright played with Karleigh Osborne at the west London club
Millwall star Josh Wright has backed new signing Karleigh Osborne to shine at The Den after the defender completed his move from Brentford.
The duo only played together once, during Wright’s loan spell with the Bees, in a 2-2 draw with Luton in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, a game that the Hatters won via a penalty shoot-out on their way to lifting the title in their last Football League season.
“I went there quite a few years ago for a month before returning to Charlton,” Wright told London24. “I played with Karleigh.
“He’s big and strong and will suit Millwall. He’s added to the defending side of it and he’s a good presence.
“He’s a good player and I look forward to playing them.”
Wright has also been impressed with the signings of Chris Taylor and Scott Malone as well as making Maik Taylor’s loan move permanent.
“The gaffer has brought in a few good players,” the midfielder added.
“They’re good players and they’ve added to a good squad. They’ve added strength and depth.”
Transfer news: Scout and former sporting director of French club Monaco Tor-Kristian Karlsen has claimed that Liverpool are set to pip Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to the signing of Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
