Transfer news: Mark Hughes says talk of an approach for Liverpool’s Craig Bellamy is just speculation.
QPR manager Mark Hughes says there is no substance to rumours of a move for Liverpool’s Craig Bellamy.
The fiery Welsh striker has been linked with a transfer from Anfield, but while Hughes is a known admirer of the 33-year-old having managed him at both Wales and Manchester City, he says there is no truth to the rumours.
“There has been a lot of speculation over Craig. Yes I know him very well. But at the moment it is all speculation,” said Hughes, before discussing his hopes for the new season.
“Now I have more time to prepare the side and get the quality players that were lacking before,” he said.
“I can say that QPR has a great future and obviously we will do better than last season. We are confident that we won’t be struggling.”
