Transfer news: The Welshman is pleased with his early efforts but insists that there is more to come
QPR manager Mark Hughes has been pleased with his early transfer activity but has not finished yet.
The R’s have already signed free agents Robert Green, Andy Johnson and Ryan Nelsen before completing the permanent transfer for Samba Diakite from Nancy on Thursday.
But the Welshman still has eyes on other transfer targets.
“Getting business done early was always the aim,” said Hughes.
“As soon as the season finished I was scouring Europe, going to France, Germany and Spain all in the space of six days, to look at players, with a view to getting business done early and getting in front of our rivals and setting a marker in terms of what we’re trying to do here.
“Hopefully the early work we’ve done will reap benefits in the future.
“If we can get everyone through the door that we want then we’ll be absolutely delighted.
Transfer news: Scout and former sporting director of French club Monaco Tor-Kristian Karlsen has claimed that Liverpool are set to pip Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to the signing of Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
