Another win last weekend and bonus point the aim against Maldon

May & Baker captain Andy Yarrow is excited about seeing how their forwards cope against Maldon in Essex One this weekend.

After a crushing 33-0 victory against Millwall, Bakers host Maldon and expect a tougher match.

“They gave us a good test up front when we won 22-0 in October so I’m looking forward to seeing how the forwards do this weekend,” said Yarrow.

“Maldon hadn’t won for a while before last weekend, but they beat East London who are quite a dogged side.

“For us we just need to keep winning and we know we will end up champions if we do that.”

Bakers stayed on course for the title with a crushing win against Millwall on Saturday.

Yarrow was impressed with their first-half display and how they stuck to a game plan, adding: “It was our most structured performance of the season, especially in the first half.

“We got the bonus-point try in the first half and we really dominated.”

Josh Cook, Joe Jones, Yarrow, Jay Walsh and Marc Tindall all crossed over in the routine victory.

Yarrow was pleased with their defensive display, adding: “We pride ourselves on our defence so it was pleasing to keep them out.”
