D’s entertain Maldon on Saturday looking to win for first time in league this year
Dagenham coach Mark Collins is looking forward to seeing an old friend this weekend when Maldon visit in Essex One.
D’s have lost their last seven league encounters, having been forced to rebuild their side in 2015.
But Collins is hoping they can get a strong team out for this Saturday’s home clash.
“My mate Mark Judd has got to bring his Maldon team down this weekend,” he said.
“We played together at Romford & Gidea Park and we nicked a result at their place earlier in the season.
“I’ll see who is about and hopefully we can get a decent side out. Jordan Wigham is missing because he has a double shift, but hopefully we field a good team.”
Although D’s haven’t tasted league success for quite some time, Collins has remained positive and is pleased his team continue to score tries.
He added: “This side hasn’t been put together, it has been thrown together and we are running out of legs in games.
“When that does happen gaps appear, but we are still getting three tries a match and for a team that has been dismantled it is good to still be scoring points.
“We have scored more points against May & Baker than any other team has in the league this season so we are showing we can attack.”
