Central Park outfit beat Writtle Wanderers 27-13 at home last weekend

Dagenham will look to build on their opening win of the new season when they visit Mersea Island in Essex League Division One on Saturday.

The Central Park outfit collected their first victory of the campaign last weekend after beating Writtle Wanderers 27-13 at home.

Dagenham trailed 6-3 at the break and also lost skipper Chris Rawlinson to a dislocated thumb in the opening half.

However, the hosts rallied after the break to run in four tries to claim the maximum five points on offer.

Joe Parkin scored a brace of tries in the second half, while Jordan Darkwa and Jermaine Darkwa also crossed as the hosts ran out victors.

Success is sure to have given the Dagenham squad a timely boost ahead of facing Mersea Island this weekend.

And they will be hoping to increase it further with another success in the league this Saturday.

Both Dagenham and Mersea Island have one win this term, so will both want their second to come this weekend.
