Barking’s season reached a new low as they shipped more than 100 points at Westcombe Park.

With just two games to go this season, Nick Warren’s side lost 109-5 as they stay marooned to the foot of
National 3 London & SEafter their heaviest defeat of the campaign.

Coming off the back of the previous weekend’s crushing 83-5 home defeat against Guernsey, where Warren questioned some of his players commitment, they were again put to the sword against ninth-placed Westcombe Park.

The game in Kent was over by half-time as Barking trailed 43-0. In total Westcombe Park ran in a whopping 16 tries, as the home side’s fly-half Iain Gordon helped himself to 34 points.

Barking’s sole points came via a try from flanker Joseph Touma, although the conversion was missed and by that time his side were already 81-0 down and things got worse in the final 15 minutes of the match.

After the defeat to Guernsey Warren suggested some of his players have already given up on a depressing 2013/14 campaign.

He said: “A lot of them have committed themselves to the club for next season, but it seems as though a lot of them already have one eye on that.

“One or two of them are going to have to find some performances between now and the end of the season.”

Warren’s men will look to salvage some pride when they welcome CS Rugby 1863 to Gale Street on Saturday for their penultimate fixture of the season.

The west London outfit are comfortably in mid-table, sitting eighth, and they are unbeaten in three games.

Barking’s last league match of the season the following week sees them travel to Hertford as they look to end their campaign on a high.

So far they have accumulated only six bonus points and will be hoping to add to that tally in the next two games.
