The men beat Dagenham 29-19 in their last match of 2017 to secure a top-four spot in Essex Division One, while the youngsters have gone from strength to strength.

The under-sevens and eights gave good accounts of themselves in the London Double Header festival at Twickenham and carried that form on.

The under-10s have stepped up to the challenge of playing contact rugby, playing in two festivals, while a new under-15 side has also enjoyed its first three matches before the mid-season break and will have more as they prepare to enter the league in the new year.

Jack Courtney, head of youth rugby, said: “It has been great to see the progress of all of the teams in the first half of the season.

“It’s great to see all of the boys and girls playing with a smile on their face and enjoying their rugby.”
