Transfer news; Nigel Clibbens refuses to talk about Jordan Rhodes after Rovers claim interest
Huddersfield Town are keeping silent over Steve Kean’s comments that Blackburn have tabled a bid for Fulham target Jordan Rhodes.
On Monday the Rovers boss revealed that an offer had been made while the Cottagers are understood to have already seen an approach rebuffed.
After netting 40 times for the Terriers last term, helping them to win promotion to the Championship, the Scotland international is one of the Football League’s hottest properties, but chief executive of the Yorkshire club, Nigel Clibbens, is keeping tight-lipped about clubs trying to prise him away.
“During the course of the summer, as we knew would happen, there has been lots of speculation in the press and media about Jordan Rhodes leaving Huddersfield Town,” he told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
“At various times, it has been reported that we have agreed terms for a sale; that bids have been received and turned down from more than one Premier League club and, over the weekend, even a rival Championship club.
“It could be distracting if we took notice of all the stories. Throughout this speculation, we have made the decision not to comment, as this would only add fuel to the fire.

“As far as we’re concerned, with just seven days to kick-off, it’s business as usual at Huddersfield Town.”
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has played down suggestions he wants Rafael Benitez to be the club’s new head coach and claimed the delegation that visited England yesterday was hoping to secure an exchange deal with Manchester City for Edinson Cavani.
