The Dark Side of the Moon music legends will perform their classic track Wish You Were Here with Ed Sheeran.
It will be the first Floyd reunion since Live 8 in 2005. Members of the band have famously difficult relations.
Not every member of the Floyd will take art, let slip flame haired hit-maker of ‘The A Team,’ Sheeran.
“I’m playing the closing ceremony - which I think is kinda cool right? A lot of people think that I’m doing a song with The Who but I’m not - I’m doing a song with Pink Floyd. I’m doing ‘Wish You Were Here’.”
Nick Mason, who drummed in the mega-selling band said a lot will depend on whether relations between David Gilmour and Roger Waters ease.
Mason said previously: “I have a different view to David. If you ask David, he’ll go, ‘Not a chance,’ where I sort of live in hope and think that Roger and David are capable of rising to an occasion.
“So if there were another Live 8, or something close to their heart, I think that could swing something.”
