Club promoter Essex, who insists on Twitter that Essex is his real name, was attacked by two mugges posing as fans.

They threw him to the ground then wrenched the £10,000 Rolex from his wrist.

Recounting the incident which happened at 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) the 21-year old said: “I got a knock on my car window asking if I was Joey Essex and if I would have my picture taken.

“We did the picture and when I put some money in the parking ticket machine, the geezers got hold of me and threw me over.

“It wasn’t until I got up that I realised they had nicked my watch and when I hit one of them back, he got out a knife,” he told The Sun.

No arrests have been made.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Members of the Priority Crime unit are investigating an allegation of robbery.”
