»Londoners are invited to snap up tickets to see the Animal Athletes at ZSL London Zoo.
As part of the London 2012 Inspire Programme, the zoo’s animal athletes are gearing up to show off their sporting abilities this summer in London Zoo Live – a new series of live events at ZSL London Zoo that demonstrate creatures’ natural athletic behaviours.
Skills
Busy practising their diving skills and perfecting their penguin-stroke, the inhabitants at Penguin Beach are flapping with excitement as they get ready for the Animal Athletes trail in their daily demonstration.
With visitors turning up in their droves for the world famous penguin feed, the zoo has installed increased seating and expects packed audiences for feeding time in England’s largest penguin pool. But it’s not just the penguins who are joining in with the fun of London 2012.
During the daily Animals Athletes Live in the amphitheatre, visitors will see macaws soaring over their heads, meerkats showing off their gymnastic balancing talents, and Bob the tiny burrowing owl embarking on his own one metre sprint.
Visitors will also be able to check out the synchronised swimming skills of the otters, learn all about the lions’ triple-jump technique and find out just how much a tiny ant is capable of weightlifting.
Visitors can book online at www.zsl.org/tickets.
