A man has been released "without further action" by police after being arrested following the deaths of two children found in Dagenham.
The bodies of two boys, aged five and two, were discovered by emergency services at a property in Cornwallis Road on Friday (December 16).
A man and woman were arrested but a Met Police spokesperson said the man "was later released without further action".

The woman, 44, who was known to the children, remains in custody after her arrest when police were called to reports of "a disturbance" at an address in nearby Maxey Road.

Det Insp Sean Treweek, from the local policing team in east London, said: “This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions.
"At this very early stage, nobody else is sought in connection with the deaths."
Post-mortem examinations into the boys' deaths and formal identifications will take place, police said.
