A Sainsbury's store has opened in Beam Park as part of a major regeneration scheme, so we have taken a look inside.

Beam Park's Sainsbury's Local opened last Friday (November 17) in The Square, Rainham.

The store, open from 7am until 11pm weekly, sits at 14 Halewood Way.

Store manager Zeiban Shaffi had said she was looking forward to serving people in the area.

The Square, a public space in the Beam Park regeneration project which aims to deliver 3,000 homes, is where the Sainsbury's can be found and will cater to residents.

Sainsbury's said it has been busy since opening.

The Beam Park branch added that it will redistribute unsold food via its partnership with community investment platform Neighbourly.

Customer food donations will be redistributed via Fareshare, a network of 18 independent UK charities.

A Costa Coffee machine and a click and collect service are also on offer.
