UP and coming bands could get their big break in one of the premier talent contests for unsigned groups.

Live and Unsigned attracted more than 10,000 contestants last year and offers the winners the chance to sign a recording contract.

Auditions start next month across the country with the nearest being Pitsea Leisure Centre, Basildon, Essex, on February 7.

Bands play in front of a panel of judges who then decide which ones have what it takes to go through to the next round.

And one of the judges for this year's competition is none other that Sex Pistols manager and all round legend Malcolm McLaren.
