From You Make Me Feel Brand New to Stop, Look, Listen (to Your Heart), the smooth and soulful sounds of The Stylistics are coming to Barking.

Lead vocalist Eban Brown will bring all the group’s much-loved hits to The Broadway next week as part of his Eyes of a Child tour – and it’s all for a good cause.

The series of one-off gigs across the country is in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, along with the proceeds of the accompanying single.

Speaking to the Post from his home in the US, Eban admits he’s looking forward to being back on the road and to performing to a smaller audience.

“The smaller venues are much more intimate,” he says in his gravelly tone. “You’re not too far away from the audience and so you can make that connection.

“Bigger venues are great if you’re a promoter but, as an artist, smaller venues are much more satisfying to play.”

The star, who is ex-lead vocalist of The Delfonics, says he loves playing on foreign shores, including to us Brits.

“You have much more appreciation for music, especially if the artist is old-school,” he said.

“In America, once you’re no longer flavour of the month, it’s over and something else comes along. But in England and Japan, you don’t care – you still seem fresh and new.”

Eban plays at the venue, in The Broadway, Barking, on March 6.
