A SPECIALLY commissioned photography project went on display at the Broadway Theatre in Barking last week.

Minister for Culture, Media and Sport and Barking MP, Margaret Hodge, attended a private viewing on Friday, November 6, where she was able to enjoy the exhibition of pictures, including her own effort.

The project was created by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC) to support the summer's LIFT Molten Festival.

With the help of professional photographers, the borough's MPs, Mrs Hodge and Jon Cruddas, council boss, Rob Whiteman, and many others captured images of what Barking and Dagenham means to them.

From Barking market, to the historic Abbey, Dagenham and Redbridge football ground, and Roy's Pie and Mash Shop in East Street, Barking, the borough comes alive in a series of photographs.

The free exhibition - My Barking and Dagenham - will run at the Broadway until Monday, November 30.
