100m cordon put in place after natural gas fire in Dagenham

A 100 metre safety cordon was enforced around a natural gas fire in Dagenham by London Fire Brigade this afternoon.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to a building site in Breach Lane, Dagenham at 1.12pm this afternoon.

The incident was brought under control just under three hours later.

There have been no reports of injuries.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
