The launch of a joint cleaning programme between Barking and Dagenham borough and national charity CleanupUK will take place this Sunday.
The litter-picking event is to celebrate and acknowledge the work of volunteers, who work hard to keep the borough tidy.
“These events are a fantastic way of encouraging community spirit and civic pride,” said council Leader Cllr Darren Rodwell. “It’s another way of helping us make a cleaner, better Barking and Dagenham.”
A group dance performance will take place at the afternoon event, which runs from 1-4pm at the Salvation Army church on Ripple Road in Barking. Refreshments will also be served.
