Eight gifted children danced and sang their way to the final of a talent show on Sunday.

Miss Natalie’s Dance School hosted Dagenham’s Children’s Got Talent in a bid to find the borough’s most talented youngsters.

Seventeen people took to the stage at Dagenham Trades Hall in Charlotte Road and eight will now progress to the final, which will be held at Hatfield Hall Community Centre on June 20 from noon.

“It was brilliant and there was some fantastic talent,” event organiser Nicola Papworth said.

“One young boy in particular blew us away. He has a voice like Frank Sinatra.”

Along with singing, tap and contemporary dance also proved to be popular among the entrants.

One participant was Eden Rose Follen, nine, who sang Opportunity from the film Annie.

“It was her first show and she was so excited,” said mum Julie Follen, 38.

“She got good scores and it’s definitely inspired her to sing more.

“All the children were fantastic.”
