Barking and Dagenham College students are taking to the catwalk on Friday for a fashion show with a difference.

To mark Christmas Jumper Day, which raises money for Save the Children, youngsters in the college’s Compass programme for 14 to 19-year-olds decided to host a fashion show for students and staff.

They enlisted the help of students with learning difficulties and disabilities in setting up the show, and will have 20 Christmas jumpers ready for Friday’s event.

Diana Aynaci, tutor at Barking & Dagenham College said: “All the students are getting really excited about the fashion show.

“It will be a great opportunity for them to showcase their talents to other students in the college – and a great way to make some money for charity too!”
