Leyton Orient 0 Huddersfield Town 1

Jordan Rhodes scored the goal that gave Huddersfield a first half lead as the visitors dominated the first half at Brisbane Road.

Looking to bounce back to winning ways after three straight defeats, Town were well worth their lead at the break as they had too much pace and power for the home side during the majority of the opening 45 minutes.

Orient manager Geraint Williams made just one change to the side that beat Walsall 2-0 last weekend.

Skipper Stephen Purches, who limped off with a calf injury, failed to recover in time, so Andrew Cave-Brown, who came on as a second substitute, kept his place, with Tamika Mkandawire taking over the armband.

While Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark made two changes to the side beaten at home by Norwich, as Lee Peltier and Theo Robinson came in.

The home side made a lively start, but Huddersfield had the first real chance when Michael Collins led a quick break and found Theo Robinson, but O's keeper Glenn Morris was quickly out to save at his feet.

Huddersfield then took control and Morris was in action again to deny Gary Roberts when he fired in an effort from the edge of the area.

The visitors looked full of menace and from a quick free-kick Robinson wriggled clear but could not get a shot away and when the ball fell to Roberts, he shot wide.

So it came as no surprise when the visitors took the lead on 26 minutes.

The lively Roberts was the architect with a cross from the left and Jordan Rhodes edged in front of Ben Chorley to touch the ball into the corner of the net from six yards.

Orient responded and on 31 minutes Jason Demetriou fired just wide of the post, with what was their first real attempt on the Huddersfield goal.

That inspired the home side as they started to get a foothold in the game, but they struggled to make much headway against the visiting defence.

However, Jonathan Tehoue almost caught out Dean Heffernan with his pace and forced the defender into a handball, which earned him a booking.
