The 68-year-old woman managed to clamber out of her car, which had landed on its roof, and suffered only minor injuries.
An ambulance arrived shortly after the accident, which happened in Longbridge Road, Barking last Monday afternoon, but the pensioner didn't need hospital treatment.
Fire crews closed a section of Longbridge Road for around an hour while they removed her car, which was left badly damaged by the crash.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
