I WOULD like to say a big thank you to three men from the local chemical firm who came to my assistance.
I walk my dog down the alley at the end of the road beside May and Baker Sports Ground.
Last week I tripped and had a nasty fall into a load of brambles. I walk with the aid of a walking stick and am in my late 70s. so you will understand when I say I could not get up.
Fortunately for me I was within earshot of the corner where the staff from Aventis were having a ciggie. I called for help and to my great relief, three workers came to my rescue. They got me onto my feet and asked if there was anything they could . One retrieved my dog's lead and offered to take me to a seat in the club grounds. I think I managed to say thank you but I was so shaken I fear I may not have.
Through the letters page please convey my sincere gratitude to the men for discarding their cigarette break to come and make sure I was able to walk.
Unfortunately I don't think I shall be confident enough to venture down the path again, which is a great shame as it is a pleasant walk which my dog Daisy and I enjoy. So thank you again to those three heroes who not only got me to my feet, but made sure Daisy and I got home safely.
