THE magical story of a young girl's journey from India to the UK is brought to Stratford Circus on Saturday afternoon by Theatre Hullaballo.
Beneath the Banyan Tree is aimed at children and tells of aspiring dancer, Anjali, who travels between two worlds - the cold reality of life in the UK, and her imaginary world of colourful animals from the Indian fables of The Panchatantra.
In her struggle to be proud of who she is, it is the richness of her culture, the strength of her family and the gifts of imagination and dance that enable Anjali to find the courage to be herself.
Beneath the Banyan Tree is a vibrant fusion of theatre, traditional Indian and western dance, movement, puppetry and music.
The show is at 3pm at the Circus, Theatre Square, Stratford. Tickets are 6 for adults and 5 for children, from 08443 572625.
