A MASSIVE blaze wrecked a former care home in what was said to be the third fire within 24 hours.
Four fire engines and 20 fire fighters from Barking and Dagenham stations were called to Lisnaveane Lodge, Lodge Avenue, Barking, at 2.08am on Tuesday.
It took four and a half hours to get the fire under control, but the roof of the building had been badly damaged. The ground and first floors had also been partly damaged.
Cliff Martin, watch manager at Dagenham fire station, said: "This is the third fire in the building within 24 hours, so it looks fairly suspicious."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
