ILFORD'S Stephen Crane had the honour of leading from start to finish in the last of this season's London Inter-Club Challenge 3,000m walks at Copthall Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Pushed hard by Belgrave Harrier John Hall in the opening stages, Crane pulled clear for a convincing victory in a personal best time of 14 minutes and 43 seconds. In sixth spot, Mike Hinton clocked a sound 18.38.
