POLICE have praised traders after they carried out 20 alcohol test purchases and no store sold drink to their underage volunteers.
On Saturday, August 8 officers and the council licensing unit visited shops and supermarkets, but all the staff asked for proof of ID and refused to sell alcohol to the teenagers.
Police licensing officer Pc Andy O'Connor said: "We have completed 60 visits to date and had only one failure. These are fantastic results and we are very pleased.
